Charley Burgess of Screven Co., Georgia

Charley Burgess Sr., also called Charley Burgest, was born about 1877 in Georgia. He married firstly Mariah __ about 1900, and secondly Corine __ about 1917. He may have had brothers named Thomas Burgess (born 1884) and James Burgess (born 1890). He is listed in the 1910 and 1930 censuses for Screven Co., Georgia, but has not been found in 1880, 1900, or 1920. He died there on 22 October 1936, having had at least three sons:

1. Rufus Burgest (1900-1976) of Screven Co., GA

2. Charley Burgess Jr. (1918?-1930+) of Screven Co., GA

3. Floyd Burgess (1920?-1938) of Screven Co., GA

Rufus Burgest is the ancestor of __ Burgess.

Test results received from one representative of this family do currently not match the numbers of any other Burgess line.
